Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Senator Alicia “Chucky” Hansen is well known for being a courageous defender of human rights, regardless of who you are, your place of birth, ethnicity or the color of your skin. She was elected in her first run for office in 1986 during a time when it was almost impossible to win a senatorial seat independent of any political party affiliation. Her independence allows her to be vocal, to aggressively pursue your issues and to add her own brand of unique creativity while defending and protecting the people she represents. Chucky has served 11 terms as Senator in the District of St. Croix, garnering the record for most votes in a senatorial election territory wide, which still stands today. With her extensive years of accomplishments as a senator, Chucky is also a radio personality with her very own show "Keeping in Touch", where she actively addresses the issues of the day, engaging in dialogs from political issues to home remedies and how to keep your household happy.
